Es ist schon besonders bemerkenswert, dass Hans Magnus Enzensberger 1957 das englische Wort “Story” in einem Essay im Spiegel nutzt, um die Darreichungsform der Spiegel-Geschichten zu erklären.
“In der Tat ist der SPIEGEL keineswegs ein Nachrichtenblatt. Der redaktionelle Inhalt besteht vielmehr aus einer Sammlung von “Storys”, von Anekdoten, Briefen, Vermutungen, Interviews, Spekulationen, Klatschgeschichten und Bildern. (…) “Die Form, in der der SPIEGEL seinen Nachrichtengehalt an den Leser heranträgt”, so heißt es im SPIEGEL-Statut, “ist die Story.“”
